ALBUM: Pax Deus - the Dawning of the Golden Age

This is my most experimental project to date. I wanted to challenge myself to make an entirely electronic, psychedelic album. I was inspired by Rick Rubin's book the Creative Act and Andre3000's complete reinvention as a new age jazz flautist. This album felt purely creative, where I was pushing my own rules about how I create music using just a Midi keyboard, a mic, and Garage Band. It's got good beats and melodies and it felt more like painting than any other kind of music I've made. Even though it's weird and experimental, I wanted it to sound human in the coming age of AI. That meant keeping the imperfections, the off kilter beats, and the random moments. It's a deeply personal concept album about the loss of millennial optimism and coming to grips with the existential hype and anxieties of this crazy political, technological, and social upheaval we find ourselves in. To contemplate what the merging of human and technology might look like before it really took hold. I recorded this at the beginning of 2024 and used AI for the videos because it felt necessary as an artist to confront the technology for this project.
